Ecosphere+ is proud to announce that we have just joined the B Corp community, as a Pending B Corp. We are excited to join the group of UK companies committed to using business as a force for good!

What is B Corp?

B Corp is for business what Fairtrade is for coffee. B Corps are commercial companies certified to meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency.

There is a growing community of over 2,100 B Corps from 50 countries all working together to redefine success in business.

From small UK-based companies like Almach Energy who are innovating ways for business to switch to 100% renewable energy to global brands like Ben & Jerry’s who are unabashedly vocal about and rally customer action on issues they believe in like climate justice and the refugee crisis, the companies in the global B Corp movement are inspiring.

What does ‘Pending’ mean?

Full certification to B Corp requires achieving a minimum score on the rigorous Impact Assessment which analyses impacts from business operations from the last year. For companies who are under a year old and do not yet have a year’s worth of activity to assess, they can get on the path to full certification and earn the temporary Pending certification.

So as Ecosphere+ is under one year old, we cannot become a full B Corp until our first birthday. Stay tuned for this in September!
